Good food and wine rank in the top five most important factors when choosing a holiday destination, according to Tourism Australia. From cooking classes to food tours; fine dining to food festivals; at least one of these is likely to be found in any avid traveller’s diary.
Enter, The Curated Plate – Australia’s most exciting new culinary festival to be staged across the Sunshine Coast from August 8 to 11. With more than 110 local businesses participating, the festival will promote the region’s exceptional produce, chefs, venues and tourism operators, to visitors and locals. Attendees will be spoilt for choice, with events ranging from fine dining experiences with internationally acclaimed chefs to the Food Fair at Black Swan Park.
One particular festival highlight is The Destination Series – an extended program of food and destination-led experiences curated by our local producers and tourism operators. This exciting program features a vast array of events including a jet-ski seafood safari, craft beer tours, bush tucker experiences, a food and wine cycling tour and an evening of opera with a fireworks display.
