What started as a small dream in 1996 has grown into a much-loved Sunshine Coast business, as Cozie Boutique & Swimwear celebrates 30 years in retail.
Cozie first opened its doors at Kawana Shoppingworld, but it wasn’t long before owner Selina Smith realised that Caloundra was where the business truly belonged.
A move to Bulcock Street followed, and three decades later, Cozie has become a familiar and much-loved part of the Caloundra retail scene.
But Selina’s contribution to Caloundra’s business community extends well beyond her own store.
She also was one of the founding members of the Caloundra Business Alliance: an organisation that grew to represent more than 100 local business members in 2020.
“I’ve always believed that local businesses are stronger when we work together,” Selina says.
“Being involved with the Caloundra Business Alliance was a really important part of my journey and my commitment to the town I love.”
This year is about much more than just a business milestone for the Smith family.
“It’s a big year for us as a family,” Selina says.
“We’re celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary, our son is graduating Year 12 at Caloundra Christian College and Cozie is turning 30.”
Caloundra has certainly changed over the years, with new businesses, developments and plenty of changes along the way.
But for Selina, the heart of Caloundra remains the same.
“Caloundra has changed a lot over the last 30 years, but the essence of Caloundra is still the same,” she says.
And after 30 years, Cozie is still proudly part of that essence – a Coast business built on family, community, loyal customers and a genuine love of the coastal lifestyle.
To celebrate its birthday, Cozie has introduced a new in-store loyalty program.
