Caloundra’s first food festival is taking on a distinctively chilli feel.
The Hot 91.1 Ignite Chilli Festival will create a hot and spicy trail in Bulcock Street.
This high-energy carnival, hosted by the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce, combines exotic foods and free tastings with great shopping, excellent entertainment and music, roving street theatre with mesmerising acts and lots of other activities to enjoy free with the family.
Watch out for top chef Gareth Collins from Wildflower restaurant at Best Western Plus Lake Kawana Hotel, who will cook up a spicy storm on stage.
One of the most anticipated events of the festival will take place mid-afternoon. Come and watch hardcore chilli eaters battle it out for bragging rights and the title of the Sunshine Coast Chilli Eating Champion. This is not for the faint-hearted.
After dark, the festival will look and sound spectacular with fire-eating performances and more exotic food. You can also rock the night away to Radio Club Band, the festival’s high-energy ‘everyone up dancing’ band.
The Ignite Chilli Festival is at Bulcock Street, Caloundra on November 25 from 1pm to 8pm. Entry is free. Find the events list at bit.ly/ChilliFestivalCaloundra.
