Sunshine Coast local Janelle Oldfield has launched The Light After: an Australian digital recovery platform created specifically for women who have left abusive relationships but are still struggling with the emotional aftermath.
While crisis services play a vital role in helping women reach safety, Ms Oldfield believes a significant gap exists in what happens afterwards.
The Light After provides private, accessible recovery tools that women can use at their own pace, including professionally produced guided meditations, emotional freedom technique tapping and somatic breathing practices, alongside educational resources designed to help survivors understand what they may be experiencing. The concept grew from Ms Oldfield’s own experience of recovering after domestic abuse.
