It was a case of staying in your pyjamas all day for students at Pelican’s Nest Early Learning Centre and Caloundra City Private School recently as they raised awareness for children in foster care.
In partnership with Caloundra’s Pyjama Foundation, senior students read to younger children to fundraise to help provide educational resources and support educational development.
National Pyjama Day assists The Pyjama Foundation in raising funds and awareness that enable the organisation to provide educational resources and support educational development through tutoring, thus providing stable, positive relationships for children in foster care in our region.
Pelican’s Nest Early Learning Centre director Natasha Sullivan says the centre is always looking at opportunities to support the local community. “National Pyjama Day is so important,” Ms Sullivan says.
“We are passionate about sharing the importance of education, particularly early education, and this organisation offers such an imperative educational service for children who are going through very difficult circumstances.
“To have access to educational support and stable, consistent relationships is so important for all students. The Pyjama Foundation offers such a special service to children in foster care.”
