‘Inspiring’: Coast movers and shakers honoured

The Sunshine Coast’s brightest business women were recognised and celebrated recently at a glittering gala awards night.

It was a memorable night of nights at the annual Sunshine Coast Business Women’s Network Awards, which saw the region’s Outstanding 2022 Business Woman of the Year crowned.

On August 4, SCBWN, together with its valued sponsors, finalists and guests attended the 23rd annual awards night recognising and celebrating the achievements of 26 remarkable business women on the Sunshine Coast.

This year, the prestigious Outstanding Business Woman of the Year was awarded to Kate Ogg from Oggy E-Scooters.

Other major winners across five categories include Dr Tanya Bell, Bronte Cresswell, Kellie Simkin, Susan Toft and Paula Gowland.

SCBWN president Min Swan is congratulating all nominees, finalists and winners and says it is an honour to celebrate with everyone in person.

“SCBWN is all about empowering and celebrating women who are achieving amazing things,” Ms Swan says.

“When you look at the finalists and winners this year it’s very clear here on the Sunshine Coast, we are surrounded by inspiring industry leaders.

“I have personally witnessed story upon story of life-changing moments these awards have delivered and the long-lasting friendships and business connections that have formed through the process, building my absolute love and respect for these awards.”

This year, the awards attracted 205 nominations, with 55 submissions then narrowed down to 26 finalists.

These finalists then faced two separate panels of judges, who examined written submissions and conducted face-to-face interviews.

As Outstanding Business Woman of the Year, Ms Ogg also received a $15,000 media package thanks to Sunshine Coast News, Southern Cross Austereo, 92.7 MixFM and 91.9 SeaFM.

The glamorous gala is highly regarded on the Sunshine Coast business and social calendar and year on year has attracted a room of 300 successful business leaders, dignitaries and sponsors.

As proud media partners My Weekly Preview congratulates all the winners and their outstanding achievements.
