Ladies Oaks Day program promises to create Coast’s biggest day out

Two weeks out from the 91.1 Hot FM Ladies Oaks Day, the Sunshine Coast Turf Club has confirmed a line-up that has the region talking and tickets moving.

Taking place on Friday, May 29 – the Maleny Show holiday – at Corbould Park racecourse in Caloundra, the event will feature live music, food, a Ferris wheel, fashion competition and racing, in what has become one of the region’s most anticipated annual events.

This week’s My Weekly Preview cover features 91.1 Hot FM breakfast host Ash Gierke – styled by Soda Fashion Haus as part of the fashion partnership – alongside Arabian Rose, a locally trained thoroughbred from Sunshine Coast trainer James Healy.

Rice Boi has been confirmed for a dedicated on-course pop-up eatery.

“The guys at the Sunshine Coast Turf Club seconded us into doing a pop-up out there for Ladies Oaks Day and Caloundra Cup, 4 July. We’re so excited, we can’t wait,” Tony Kelly, of Rice Boi, says.

“It’s a really affordable day out and they always get so many people out there.”

Electronic music artist Will Sparks will perform from 6.30pm after the last race, marking the first headline act of its kind for the venue.

A 26m Ferris wheel will operate on the course, offering views across the track and coast.

“The 91.1 Hot FM Ladies Oaks Day is our biggest day on the calendar,” Ash says. “It is huge. It is massive.”

Sunshine Coast Turf Club CEO John Miller says Ladies Oaks Dayis “unquestionably the biggest race meeting on the Sunshine Coast calendar”.

Tickets are on sale at sctc.com.au.
