Legendary singer and songwriter Neil Diamond has been forced to cancel his world tour following a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease.
Announcing his retirement today, Mr Diamond has cancelled the third leg of his 50th Anniversary tour, which was set to land at Sunshine Coast Stadium on March 22.
The onset of the disease has made it difficult for the performer to travel and perform, but he plans to remain active in writing, recording and other projects.
Sunshine Coast Council issued a statement following the announcement and said tickets purchased by credit or debit card would be refunded in full by Ticketek. For patrons who purchased tickets with cash or EFTPOS, Ticketek will be in contact to arrange a refund.
