A Sunshine Coast beach has been named the state’s best.
Despite ongoing foreshore construction, Mooloolaba Beach topped the category in the 2026 Queensland Day All the Best awards.
Almost 75,000 votes were cast across 15 awards recognising food, hospitality and tourism businesses statewide.
Construction of a key stretch of seawall in front of the Mooloolaba Surf Club reached ‘finished level’ recently, giving beachgoers a glimpse of what it will look like.
The 2026 Queensland Day celebrations included a ‘Mega Round’ of sport, featuring two NRL matches, an AFL Q-Clash, a Super Netball derby and the Queensland Day Stakes at Oaks Day in horse racing.
Premier David Crisafulli says the awards reflect strong community support for local businesses.
“All the Best is exactly that – Queenslanders backing Queenslanders and getting behind the local spots and businesses that they love,” Premier Crisafulli says.
“A record-breaking number of votes shows we are building something special for this state, just how proud Queenslanders are of where we live and how good our local businesses really are.
“Congratulations to every winner and to the thousands of Queenslanders who got behind them to take the crown in their category.”
Winners included: The Baker’s Duck in Toowoomba (Best Bakery); Banh Mi Factory in Zillmere (Best Banh Mi), Super Rooster in Toowoomba (Best Burger Joint), Rode Meats in Stafford Heights (Best Butcher), and Farmhouse in Kedron (Best Cafe).
