Piers Lane to perform in hinterland

Australia’s most famous classical music export, piano maestro Piers Lane AO, will team up with rising star Ruby Luck for a rare performance at Montville’s Lucas Parklands on July 2.

This will be a highlight of a program of world-class classical concerts over coming months.

Lane has performed in more than 40 countries, developing a world-wide reputation as an engaging and highly-versatile performer, equally comfortable in solo, chamber and concerto repertoire.

He will partner with Melbourne-based Ruby, who has studied at the Queensland Conservatorium, performing as a chamber musician, soloist, with Australian and international instrumentalists and vocalists, and in trios, quartets and quintet ensembles.

“Both these artists are unique and have been making their individual marks on the classical music world. To have them perform here together will be something very special,” says host Ian Lucas, of Lucas Parklands.

“It’s also a very lovely opportunity for Ruby, who has a personal connection to the hinterland, with her parents residing not far away in Maleny.”
