PTSD dogs need some volunteers’ love

PTSD Dogs Australia is urging Sunshine Coast locals to step forward and volunteer, as new statewide data shows community organisations are under increasing pressure to fill essential roles.

New figures from Volunteering Queensland show a 17 per cent shortfall in volunteer capacity across more than 470 locations statewide, with one-in-six volunteer roles currently vacant.

Like many community organisations across Queensland, PTSD Dogs Australia relies on volunteers to keep its mission moving.

The organisation rescues, rehabilitates and trains suitable displaced and unwanted dogs to support veterans, Australian Defence Force personnel and Triple-0 First Responders living with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
