One of the Sunshine Coast’s most popular school community events is set to return, celebrating all things strawberries.
StrawbFest is on September 12, featuring rides, live music, sideshow alley, a licensed bar, traditional stalls and strawberry-themed food.
As a major fundraiser for Chevallum State School, the event has been running for more than 30 years and has become much loved for its strawberry jam and sundaes. The event is helped along, thanks to generous donations of fresh strawberries from farmers across the Sunshine Coast, volunteers, the Parents and Citizens Association and school staff.
Principal Craig Hazen says 2025 will be his first time attending: “I’m thrilled to experience StrawbFest; the rides, the entertainment and, most of all, the incredible sense of community it brings.”
StrawbFest coordinator Lisa Whiting says it’s more than a school fete, with the vibrant, family-friendly festival and chance to bring the wider community together.
“Whether you’re a long-time local or new to the area, StrawbFest 2025 is your chance to experience the true heart of the Chevallum community,” she says.
The festival will open from 5pm, ending with a fireworks display at 9pm.
Entry is free, but registration is essential via strawbfest.com.
