Woodford folk festival already breaking records

Earlybird tickets for the 39th Woodford Folk Festival are on sale now, with the event held annually between December 27 and January 1.

The festival brings together six days of events across 20 venues, featuring 450 acts and more than 1600 performances and presentations spanning music, comedy, circus, debate, dance,
workshops, children’s programming, and late-night revelry.

“Each year, Woodford becomes a living, breathing celebration of community, creativity and culture,” festival co-founder and director Amanda Jackes says.

“For six extraordinary days, people gather from all walks of life to share music, ideas, stories, laughter and a sense of belonging that is increasingly rare in the modern world.”

Amanda says early demand has already surged, with ticket sales to members breaking records.

“Woodford is more than a festival, it’s a temporary creative village built on participation, generosity, imagination and joy,” she says.

“Held on the magical Woodfordia site, where more than 138,000 trees have been planted over the years, the festival offers people a rare opportunity to gather in a place shaped by both culture and care for the environment.”

Minister for the Environment and Tourism Andrew Powell says Queensland is cementing its position as Australia’s events capital.

“The Woodford Folk Festival proves why Queensland is fast becoming the events capital of Australia,” Mr Powell says.

“More than 1600 performances across six days will draw thousands of visitors and deliver a major boost to our economy.

“This festival backs local jobs and businesses while showcasing an experience that keeps people coming back year after year.”
