Talented young musicians from across the Sunshine Coast took to the stage on August 22, celebrating a decade of Eumundi School of Music.
Founded by five-time ARIA Award-winning songstress Katie Noonan, Eumundi School of Music (ESOM) is celebrating its 10th year of nurturing the next generation of Coast musicians.
The program gives aspiring young artists the opportunity to pursue their musical dreams with one-on-one tuition and mentoring from professional musicians over three months, leading up to the concert.
“Seeing a full house and an audience with full hearts was the perfect way to celebrate 10 years of Eumundi School of Music,” Noonan says of the Eumundi School of Arts Hall concert. “The young musicians absolutely rocked the stage, giving it everything they had, playing their hearts out and showing just how much talent, passion and energy they have.”
Katie also praised Kate Miller-Heidke and her husband and musical collaborator Keir Nuttall for sharing their talent and experience with the next generation of musicians.
“Kate and Keir brought extraordinary musical talent and experience to the celebration, and it was fantastic to see our students share the stage with them,” Noonan says.
ESOM’s Charlie Dark, 13, had the opportunity to sing alongside Miller-Heidke and Nuttall.
“My experience with the Eumundi School of Music has been an incredible opportunity, surrounded by dedicated teachers and passionate young musicians,” Charlie says. “I’ve loved building friendships within the program and connecting with other young musos who share my passion for music.”
