Zane Gorissen is only 12 years old, but the significance of Queensland’s fleet of RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopters isn’t lost on him. During July, RACQ LifeFlight Rescue held the inaugural Run to Rescue fundraiser and Zane set a fundraising goal of $700 and a challenge of completing 100 kilometres on his mountain bike.
LifeFlight has long been a topic at the dinner table for the St Andrews Anglican College student. His grandmother, Jocelyn Walker, is the chair of the organisation’s Sunshine Coast Regional Advisory Committee.
“Jocelyn is already such a champion of our charity and it’s so heart-warming to see young people, like Zane, support this amazing cause,” LifeFlight regional development manager, Jodi Durkin says.
